Based on 494 reviewsKedai Makan D'Simpang is widely praised for its authentic Malay cuisine, offering a diverse and flavorful menu that highlights traditional kampong-style dishes. Customers appreciate the affordable pricing and the restaurant's simple, humble ambiance, which adds to the overall charm. Signature dishes such as mutton curry, beef and chicken murtabak, and a variety of sambal are frequently recommended. The self-service setup and generous food spread cater well to lunch crowds, though seating and parking limitations can be challenging during peak hours. Conveniently located near Gelang Patah, this eatery remains a popular spot for those seeking genuine Malay flavors in a casual village-style setting.
Nice spread of Malay dishes. During Ramadan they open from 3-7pm (take away only). Also have delicious, freshly made beef and chicken murtabak then.
Since it's nearby my kampong, this place serves one of the best kampong style dishes at Gelang Patah. Affordable price, authentic malay food. Recommend!
Truly amazing spread of authentic Malay food. Kari kambing is a must try.... delicious curry gravy with falling off the bone tender lamb rib pieces. The atmosphere is kampung style... simple and humble. It gets very crowded at lunch time, and a table can be hard to get. But of course, with such good food and cheap price. Everything is self service, you take your own rice and dishes, and then you take it all to the cashier to pay.
Situated a few kilometers away from maintown of Gelang Patah and about 1km away from Living Quarters for Customs and Immigration workers. The called DSimpang simply means "At D Junction" but it's a upscale eatery just a normal village style. Serves terrific Malay local dishes and a lot of dishes to choose, from main dishes to vegetables. Just to add more flavours to the dishes, varieties of sambals is available, to enjoy the flavours of your taste buds. Parking space is available too but avoid crowded lunch hour 12 to 2, as parking is scarce I give double thumb ups. Try it yourself it's reasonably cheap and delicious Oh yes it serves breakfast and lunch
The food spread and options is great. Try the roti canai kambing. The limited parking, limited seating and the awkward car entry is something to be careful about. Worth the drive just for the mutton curry
Breakfast local food hot fresh made and self service curry.. roadside stall but sure to come again.. do come early as may get sold out fast..
It's a must to visit this restaurant during lunch hour. Plenty of dishes to be choose with reasonable price. It is crowded during lunch hour. Recommend place.
Variety of lauk for nasi campur, ideal for breakfast and lunch. There are lots of parking space available, toilet available as well. And you can wash your motorcycle or car while having breakfast or lunch.
